Her research interests and scholarship focus on crime prevention through opportunity reduction, and on the analysis and evaluation of criminal justice policy. Prior to joining CSUSB, Dr. Marteache taught at Rutgers School of Criminal Justice and at ESADE Law School. She also worked as a researcher at the Department of Justice of the Government of Catalonia (Spain), mainly in the areas of juvenile justice, corrections, and court performance evaluation.
